<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em><span style="color: #db057d;"><span style="color: #000000;">Welcome</span> <span style="color: #000000;">to</span> <span style="color: #da065f;">Pink Saturday!</span></span></em></strong><strong><em><span style="color: #db057d;"><span style="color: #da065f;"> </span></span></em></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">It&#8217;s exciting to get back into Pink Saturday. For those of you who pop in frequently, you will notice I have a <strong>New Look</strong> blog. This coincides nicely with my <strong>200th blog post</strong>&#8230;. So stay tuned for a <strong><em>celebration</em></strong> to mark these two events!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">While doing my &#8216;on again &#8211; off again&#8217; clean up around the garage &amp; work area I organised a small collection of teapots. Some will need to be recreated &amp; some are more of the &#8216;collecting&#8217; type. I don&#8217;t have any newer recreations to show you so I fossicked through my photo archives to find one old teapot which was given a makeover a few year back.<a href="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/teapot-1aa.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-762" title="teapot 1aa" src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/teapot-1aa.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="372" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Of course this can&#8217;t be used as a teapot but it can be used as a decorative piece. The teapot is more pink in colour than is showing up in the photo. In the above photo it&#8217;s sitting elegantly on a recreated tray.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/teapot-2aa.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-763" title="teapot 2aa" src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/teapot-2aa.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="372" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Old teapots make charming vessels for beautiful blooms &#8230;. preferably the real kind though &#8211; don&#8217;t know what I was thinking when I took this photo, lol.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">~~~~~</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">&#8230; And now for our weekly challenge - here is a delightful participant I&#8217;d like to introduce you to -</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em>Diana</em></strong> from <strong><em><a href="http://www.sissieshabbycottage.blogspot.com" target="_blank">Sissie&#8217;s Shabby Cottage</a></em></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: center;">There are many wonderful entries for <strong><em><span style="color: #da065f;">Pink Saturday</span></em></strong> which is hosted by <strong><em>Beverly</em></strong> at <strong><em><a href="http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/" target="_blank">How Sweet The Sound</a></em></strong>. Take time to visit other participants’ blogs and see how <strong><em><span style="color: #da065f;">Pink</span> </em></strong>everyone’s Saturdays can be &#8211; you won&#8217;t be disappointed.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><em><span style="color: #da065f;">Happy Pink Saturday Everyone!</span> <img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/waving.gif" alt="" /></em></strong><a href="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Enchanted-Quill-1aa.jpg"></a></p>

<p align="center">Today I&#8217;m sharing with you three things &#8211; a recreated piece, a printed piece and something just for you.</p>
<p align="center"><font color="#cc0099"><strong><em>Welcome to <span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family: Georgia; color: #cc0099; font-size: 12pt">Pink Saturday!</span></em></strong></font>  </p>
<p align="center">This bowl was in a sad state when I bought it from a recycling yard. Originally it would have had a fixed overhead handle, but the handle must have been long gone before I found it. The silver that did cover it once was also long gone too &amp; the bowl needed a good clean &amp; scrub in preparation for the recreation process. This is the final result of that recreation.</p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Oe9IaeJA3wc/R7lqd1eS6-I/AAAAAAAAABw/d4eNazPjuC4/s1600-h/bowl+1dd.JPG"><img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Oe9IaeJA3wc/R7lqd1eS6-I/AAAAAAAAABw/d4eNazPjuC4/s320/bowl+1dd.JPG" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5168279108187253730" style="cursor: hand" /></a></p>
<p align="center">The bowl now has a ‘new life’ …. and is indeed in ‘pride-of-place’ in a new home standing proud as gorgeous little Recreated Treasure.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/bowl-1bb.JPG" /><br />
 </p>
<p align="center">The next photo shows a lovely printed panel &#8211; not one of my works but one I have on sale at the moment. It&#8217;s a long narrow panel but will sit nicely on a mantle as it would on a wall.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/panel-4aa.JPG" /> </p>
<p align="center">I like the mix of pink &amp; green on this print.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/panel-4bb.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center">And finally for today there is my latest photo of a deep pink rose. We all love beautiful things and we enjoy sharing these beautiful things with each other.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/rose-1ccccc.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center">So to my dear blogging friends this rose is for you &#8211; feel free to copy this rose for your personal use &#8211; I&#8217;m hoping it will give you lots of love and a smile each time you look at it.</p>

<p align="center"><strong><em>Beverly</em></strong> has issued us all a challenge for <span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family: Georgia; color: #cc0099; font-size: 12pt"><strong><em>Pink Saturday </em></strong></span>– to visit someone new amongst the particpants and then introduce them to your readers. <p align="center"><strong><em>Candy’s</em></strong> blog - <a target="_blank" href="http://rockcandy56.blogspot.com/"><strong><em>Rock Candy</em></strong> </a>. Candy loves old and preloved things. She has a gorgeous blog, so do pop over and take a look around.</p>
<p align="center"><span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family: Georgia; color: #cc0099; font-size: 12pt"><strong><em>*************</em></strong></span></p>
<p align="center">For today’s <span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family: Georgia; color: #cc0099; font-size: 12pt"><strong><em>Pink</em></strong></span> I’ll share with you more recreated items …. these are past works of mine (&#8230;. and also early photos so my apologies for the quality of the photos). Here is a mix of things &#8211; a tall planter, small vase and decorative jugs.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/mix-1aaa.jpg" /> </p>
<p align="center">All items in the above photo are recreated, with the exception of the pretty pink sheer tablecloth/throw the items are gracefully resting on. The pink fringing was hand dyed especially for it.</p>
<p align="center">In the photo below &#8211; what was an old, worn silver tray became a pink decorative tray refusing to be hidden away in a cupboard&#8230;.. The colours around the rim are actually a little deeper than what is seen in the photo&#8230;. what you can do with old pieces is only limited by the imagination.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/round-tray-1abb.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center">I&#8217;m not too far away from returning to my <em>creative space</em> where someone&#8217;s disgarded items are awaiting to become new treasures. I&#8217;m hoping to be able recreate many more decorative items and perhaps even post some of the work as I do them step by step.</p>

<p align="center">This was an old brass jug rescued from an op shop. It was given a nice cleansing and scrub; then the creative hand set about to give it a face lift.</p>

<p align="center"><font color="#cc0099"><strong><em>Welcome to <span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family: Georgia; color: #cc0099; font-size: 12pt">Pink Saturday!</span></em></strong></font> </p>
<p align="center"> It&#8217;s those little things, handmade or recreated with love, that can say so much and become little treaured keepsakes. So I&#8217;ve dug out some photos from my archives, of a few small creations to share for today&#8217;s <span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family: Georgia; color: #cc0099; font-size: 12pt"><strong><em>Pink</em></strong></span> . The first photo shows a simple little notebook. I had a stack of handmade paper which I made into these small books. A painted rose on the cover with some trims turn a plain book into a sweet little keepsake notebook. </p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/notebook-1aa.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center">A few years back my mum came home with a box full of these small stainless steel gravy boats. They were thrown out at her place of work so she rescued them and brought them to me. They were still in good condition - but what do you do with a box full of gravy boats?</p>
<p align="center">&#8230;. Recreate them into candle holders of course! After receiving the &#8216;recreation&#8217; treatment some were filled with candle wax or wax beads and others would hold a tealight or short candle.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/rose-jug-1aa.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center">The next photo shows a recreated trinket box. This was a well-used silver heart box in need of some loving care. It belonged to a friend of mine who didn&#8217;t want to throw it out and so asked me to give it some new life&#8230;&#8230;.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/rose-heart-1bb.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center"><img height="336" width="441" src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/rose-heart-1aa.JPG" style="width: 441px; height: 336px" /></p>
<p align="center">&#8230;. and so, it went back home renewed.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/rose-heart-1ee.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center">One thing I remember when creating the above treasures, is how much I <strong><em>enjoyed</em></strong> working on them. </p>

<p align="center">Combine a few simple items and create something Pretty enough to give as a gift. A fluffy pink organza gift bag with three soaps &#8211; lavender, tropical frangipani and rose &#8211; sitting pretty on small pink bowl. </p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dish-1bb.JPG" /> </p>
<p align="center">An old tarnished bowl has been given a new look &#8211; a few coats of pink paint with gold highlighting the embossed edge. </p>
<p align="center"><img width="448" src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dish-1aa.JPG" height="333" style="width: 448px; height: 333px" /></p>
<p align="center">&#8230;. another pink bowl has been given the same treatment.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dish-2aa.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center">&#8230; and so has this small dish.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dish-3aa.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center">This little dish can be used as a bottle coaster. I don&#8217;t know if that was it&#8217;s original purpose but it does look so nice on a table setting.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dish-mix-1bb.JPG" /></p>
<p align="center">I find a lot of these old silver or steel dishes at op shops for such small costs. It&#8217;s simple to  recreate them and give them a new look. They make a unique gift item or a gorgeous little decor piece for your own dresser, mantle or dining table. So, if you have any metal pieces you&#8217;re about to throw out think about giving them a facelift. Its better than buying something new because it will be a one-of-a-kind &#8211; no one else can boast of having the same piece.</p>
<p align="center">If you do recreate something, post a pic and let me know &#8211; I&#8217;d love to see your handy work.</p>

<p>The creative room has been silent and still for a long time. I know I&#8217;m not far off from picking up a paint brush &#8230;. for creative purposes instead of painting walls.  In fact, I am eager to get going again. I remember when the paint, brushes fabrics and embellishments were used in full swing and how all I had to do was pick up one of them and the inspiration would flow. Will this happen the again, the same as before? I hope so &#8230;.. I believe it will.</p>

<p align="center">Each mini tray is Approx. 10 cm x 15 cm</p>
<p>In their original condition the gorgeous embossed pattern could barely be noticed. The painted finish now highlights the ornate pattern around the edge and cute little handles. And a simple rose in the middle is all that&#8217;s needed to crown the once insignificant little tray into a cute decorative piece.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s time to show off another recreated item seeing I haven&#8217;t done so for a while. </p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/dish-5cc.JPG" /></p>
<p>Sometimes friends give me old silverware as gifts for my birthday or other occasions because they know I&#8217;m always on the lookout for different, unusual or vintage style items to recreate. This sweet dish was one of them.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/dish-5dd.JPG" /></p>
<p>The dish is a simple but very elegant shape. There is no embossing, carving or other embellishment except for a row of small round &#8216;pearl drops&#8217; along the handle. The proportions between the splayed base, plain tray with scrolled corners &amp; patterned handle flow together beautifully to create such an elegant server.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/dish-5gg.JPG" /></p>
<p><a href="http://epdesigns.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/dish-5gg.JPG"></a><br />
Considering it&#8217;s been tossed about on a shelf in a recycling yard the dish has kept it&#8217;s shape well. Soft mauve &amp; green with simple gold painted trims have recreated this serving dish into a gorgeous decorative item. &#8230;&#8230; Another One-Of-A-Kind</p>
