Richly Ornate … and Beautiful!

Another richly ornate mirror for you to enjoy. According to the supplier it’s a reproduction of a Victorian design, although, to me it looks more like an Art Nouveau design – but I’m not an expert.

Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous! What else can I say…….

Just like the white Victorian mirror seen in an earlier post, this mirror is also a reproduction of an authentic vintage design. The beauty of owning one of these is that you can have the vintage design without paying the price of an antique piece.

Clocks, Clocks …. and More Clocks!

I’ve developed a liking for clocks. I’m not sure why it is but I’m always on the lookout for gorgeous clocks. I especially like the the vintage styles or period styles of various descriptions. The period styles just ooze with charm and elegance.

The photo above shows a classic style mantle clock finished in ivory with a light antiquing.

…. and below is a gorgeous, very ‘French’ looking table clock.

For a vintage ‘Paris’ style, the clock below would fit in nicely.

Sweet, elegant and a little different ….

It’s difficult to chose a favourite because they’re all beautiful. When I finally finish the upgrade of my web site I’ll be adding a category especially for clocks.

Ciao for now, Elena :)

Gorgeous Mirror – Ornate & Chic

If you like ‘ornate’, ‘chic’ and ‘white’ then this gorgeous mirror could hang quite happily in your home. This is a reproduction of an actual Victorian design complete with holes in each corner. The holes seen in the corners of the frame are part of the Victorian design where frames were hung using rope pulled through these holes.

This mirror frame has been painted white and is perfect for the ‘shabby chic’ style decor or even the modern home.

I love the gorgeous detail that comes with this design. It’s a lavish centrepiece for your wall decor – perfect to hang over a dresser in the bedroom,  over a mantlepiece, in a front entry/hallway, or even in the bathroom. It would certainly brighten any dark spot and will highlight any corner of your home. I’d even be tempted to use it to decorate an outdoor room or outdoor entertaining area.

Items like this can lift a home’s decor and make you feel good about having something beautiful in your surroundings.

Vintage Style Clocks

I have a collection of vintage style clocks – that is,  reproductions of vintge styles. This is a great way of having vintage style clocks without the ‘vintage’ price tag. If you are a clock collector then is is not for you but if you like the style or want to add these to your decor mix then reproductions are the way to go.

Some of these designs are small & gorgeous but all of them have an elegant vintage charm. These are just some of the reproductions I’ve come across – I’ll show you more in the posts to come.

Ciao fo now, Elena :)

Roses To Enjoy

Roses are always a popular subject in creative painting. It’s easy to see why though as they are elegant, beautiful and inspiring. I’m not into gardening and haven’t a clue how to look after one, but I do admire beautiful gardens. I am currently preapring for another session of painting and roses are the main subject. I have collected a few references to share with you all to enjoy.

My paintings don’t do these beautiful flowers justice but I am a beginner as far as painting roses is concerned, and I do enjoy it. However, as the saying goes “practice makes perfect”, so that is what I must do.

I don’t know the names of each type of rose which is a pity.

I do hope you enjoy looking at these beautiful roses.

Ciao for now,

Elena :)
