Canvas Prints
It’s lovely to be surrounded by beautiful flowers. But I must confess, I’m not very good at looking after flowers in a vase. I admire people who make an effort to grace their homes with freshly cut flowers – whether they’re picked from their own garden or bought, flowers are a natural ‘decor item’ that brighten up the home and make you feel good …… well, that’s how I see them.
I don’t sell fresh flowers but I do aim to find beautiful decor items to add to my range of decor items for sale. These canvas prints are an affordable alternative to buying original art works, and a great addition to wall decor or to accompany flower arrangements as part of your decor scheme.

Richly Ornate … and Beautiful!
Another richly ornate mirror for you to enjoy. According to the supplier it’s a reproduction of a Victorian design, although, to me it looks more like an Art Nouveau design – but I’m not an expert.
Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous! What else can I say…….
Just like the white Victorian mirror seen in an earlier post, this mirror is also a reproduction of an authentic vintage design. The beauty of owning one of these is that you can have the vintage design without paying the price of an antique piece.
Clocks, Clocks …. and More Clocks!
I’ve developed a liking for clocks. I’m not sure why it is but I’m always on the lookout for gorgeous clocks. I especially like the the vintage styles or period styles of various descriptions. The period styles just ooze with charm and elegance.
The photo above shows a classic style mantle clock finished in ivory with a light antiquing.
…. and below is a gorgeous, very ‘French’ looking table clock.
For a vintage ‘Paris’ style, the clock below would fit in nicely.
Sweet, elegant and a little different ….
It’s difficult to chose a favourite because they’re all beautiful. When I finally finish the upgrade of my web site I’ll be adding a category especially for clocks.

Gorgeous Mirror – Ornate & Chic
If you like ‘ornate’, ‘chic’ and ‘white’ then this gorgeous mirror could hang quite happily in your home. This is a reproduction of an actual Victorian design complete with holes in each corner. The holes seen in the corners of the frame are part of the Victorian design where frames were hung using rope pulled through these holes.
This mirror frame has been painted white and is perfect for the ‘shabby chic’ style decor or even the modern home.
I love the gorgeous detail that comes with this design. It’s a lavish centrepiece for your wall decor – perfect to hang over a dresser in the bedroom, over a mantlepiece, in a front entry/hallway, or even in the bathroom. It would certainly brighten any dark spot and will highlight any corner of your home. I’d even be tempted to use it to decorate an outdoor room or outdoor entertaining area.
Items like this can lift a home’s decor and make you feel good about having something beautiful in your surroundings.
Decor Tablecloths
During my ‘hobby business’ days EP Designs produced a variety of decor items in addition to the recreated treasures of the painted kind. Decorative tablecloths, tabletoppers & table runners were among the popular items. Most of the designs were one or two-of-a-kind as they were made from remnant pieces – even the tassels & embellishments were created from remnant pieces which were only ever bought at stock take sales or selected from the remnant bins in craft/haberdashery/home furnishing stores. Colour matching & creative design was always a challenge when materials were limited but interesting pieces usually resulted.
* This tablecloth draped over an old chair was designed using a curtain lace titled ‘Tuscany’ & combined with sheer voile edging.
* I loved using sheers, voiles & even chiffons for decorative tablecloths like this one, which has removeable, hand made tassels on each corner. These flowing tablecloths look equally decorative as a throw.
* Very simple but effective, white lace & ivory fringing – very elegant.
* Soft flowing sheers & rayon fringing are Oh so elegant …..
* I got into the habit of taking no notice of what materials ‘should’ have been used for. In my work room, chiffons were used for decor tablecloths, curtain sheers were used for shawls, fine knits were used for throws. Ideas kept flowing freely once the creative process kicked in. This shawl was made using a gorgeous printed cutain sheer which had an organza look & feel to it, with hand dyed lace fringing trimming each end.
I guess you could also call these items ‘recreated treasures’ too.
Decorative Teapots
.
Decorative Teapots add a touch of Elegance to your Decor.
There are more uses for a teapot, in my book, than just as a teapot. My favourite would have to be as a vase. A decorative teapot filled with beautiful blooms or shabby roses has a gorgeous country feel to it. Group them together on a lovely recreated tray for a chic display, on your dresser, sideboard or occasional furniture….. and in any room. Don’t limit their location to kitchen or dining rooms. A display of this kind is sure to bring a smile or two in your bedroom, study, office, hallway or porch.
These little recreated treasures would brighten up any corner of your home.

Shabby Elegance
Following on from my previous post, here is a collection of decorative items grouped together in a display. This may seem overly decorative but changing displays in your home can be just as refreshing for your home as a new outfit, shoes or hairstyle for yourself. Just as we like to pamper ourselves from time to time, a little pampering for your home can brighten up a dark corner, a boring view or bare wall.
Sometimes I like to come up with a new setting or decor feature for a special occasion, dinner party, afternoon tea or expected visitors. It can be as simple as rearranging a few items & furniture in a room, bringing out china & glassware to display, or showing off a new purchase or newly recreated piece. They are only temporary displays and tend to linger on for a while until something new comes up. But you can chose to keep them as a more permanent display.
You could use a collection of your favourite things next to something new you’ve been given or purchased. The photo below shows a group or my Recreated Treasures – a tall planter, small vase, an elegant slimline jug, three little vases sitting graciously on an oval try, all standing quite elegantly on a soft, pink chiffon table cloth which has been ruffled up around them, and backed by another cloth of lace & fringing. There is a sense shabby elegance about this setting.
Have a go at experimenting yourself with different settings. You may surprise yourself at what you find & what you come up with ….. enjoy it.
