A Splash Of Colour
In the midst of grey, bleak days of winter it’s lovely to get a splash of colour in the garden.
Welcome to Pink Saturday!
We’ve had a number of cold, grey days so far this winter. Ok, I won’t complain about the rain because we’re still on water restrictions here & our dams will take years to fill up again …. but that doesn’t mean I can’t whinge about the cold, lol. How lovely though to go outside and have these frilly camelias smiling back at you.
…..well they were actually from my aunt’s garden. They look so bright & happy – just what is needed to brighten up the day.
In our backyard we also found a surprise splash of colour. Here they are sitting in an unglamorous pot amongst a few gardening tools – beautiful bright pink cyclamen.

…. just right to chase the gloom away. The sun also came out long enough to snap these photos – what a difference it makes.

Celebrate With Beautiful Things
Roses, vintage images & beautiful things are just some of the many things that I love.
Today we are celebrating Pink Saturday’s 2nd Birthday so I decided to go into my Pink Saturday archives and dig out some of those gorgeous things I’ve shared since my first Pink post in June 2009.
Good china always helps make a celebration special. This teapot and tureen are so richly ornate – don’t they make you feel you’re in a grand palace in France?
The next item I found was one of my recreated pieces. The roses you can see on the plate of the compote are decoupaged onto a motley background of pink, green and pale yellow.
I rather like the idea of filling the compote with delicious chocolates……. then eating them all with the excuse that you need to see the roses
A pretty gift for the party …. a tiny, cute tassel adds more prettiness to the fluffy organza gift bag.
I think you’ll agree that roses are a favourite, so here is a lovely pink one for you.

Cups And Roses
Do you ever end up with a collection of gifted items that don’t match up or belong as one set? Cups and mugs seem to be a popular gift idea but single or double they usually end up a mismatched set – different size, shape & colours ….. but is that a bad thing?
The theme here is cups & roses …. and I think this little batch looks rather fabulous.
Welcome to Pink Saturday!
Roses are always liked around here - these mugs have been gifted in the past as birthday or Mother’s Day gifts.
Drinking coffee, tea or hot chocolate from a gorgeous china cup or mug makes it taste so much better & it’s more enjoyable – don’t you think?

Solid Potato Salad
My son stumbled across this video on YouTube so here is something a little different to share with you for Pink Saturday!
It’s amazing how humans could be so freakishly flexible and balanced. Make sure you see the human cartwheel at the end!
…… enjoy.

Fluffy Fancies
If I didn’t procrastinate so much then I’m sure these Fluffy Fancies would have been complete & ready for their ’photo shoot’….. or maybe I shouldn’t admit to this?
Welcome to Pink Saturday!
Seeing I won’t be taking part in Pink Saturday for a couple of weeks I’ve decided to show you what I’ve been working on anyway….. My Fluffy Fancy Pin Cushions
My collection of old & worn silverware includes these liqueur/sherry stem goblets which have been painted & given some gold antiquing.
I’ve added a big handful of craft stuffing contained within a covering of crushed panne velvet, to form a round ball for the a pin cushion. The cushion & beaded fringing are fixed firmly onto the goblets …. but the lace & feathery embellishments are only pinned into place at the moment. The look may change slightly when I eventually finalise these trims.
So far the above design is my favourite, but I have more designs on the go – these will all be available for sale as soon as they’re finished.

From The Archives …
Welcome to Pink Saturday!
It’s exciting to get back into Pink Saturday. For those of you who pop in frequently, you will notice I have a New Look blog. This coincides nicely with my 200th blog post…. So stay tuned for a celebration to mark these two events!
While doing my ‘on again – off again’ clean up around the garage & work area I organised a small collection of teapots. Some will need to be recreated & some are more of the ‘collecting’ type. I don’t have any newer recreations to show you so I fossicked through my photo archives to find one old teapot which was given a makeover a few year back.
Of course this can’t be used as a teapot but it can be used as a decorative piece. The teapot is more pink in colour than is showing up in the photo. In the above photo it’s sitting elegantly on a recreated tray.
Old teapots make charming vessels for beautiful blooms …. preferably the real kind though – don’t know what I was thinking when I took this photo, lol.

Oh Be Thou My Valentine …
Vintage images and beautiful roses are two things (of many) that I love. Today I’ll combine the two and share with you a few pictures which will hopefully brighten your Pinks Saturday and Valentine’s Day.
Welcome to Pink Saturday!
How sweet are these …
Roses speak love the whole world through …
Now, I usually don’t like to bombard you with lots of photos but seeing we’re combining Valentine’s Day with Pink Saturday
I thought I’d share some of my rose photos in which I have attempted to be a little creative with. I don’t have any fancy software so I’m limited with what I can do….
Fine Art?… an acrylic painting perhaps.
…. a canvas finsih.
…. sandstone or leather texture?
…. leather or sandstone finish? Whichever it is I like it.
… Hmmm, I’m not sure about this grainy finish – maybe on another photo perhaps?
…. just a bit of fun!
… and finally, another vintage picture to wish you all a
A Happy Valentine’s Day

Excuse Me While I Change
No, you’re not at the wrong blog. Wondering why my pretty looking blog has disappeared? Read on and ….
Welcome to Pink Saturday!
It’s a long story but it will return looking all fresh and with a new design. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m prone to what I call my techo ‘accidentals’. I won’t bore you with all the details but the EP Designs blog was due for a revamp over the next couple months. My ‘accidental’ means it will happen sooner rather than later – along with the introduction of a new blog – not to replace this blog but to work as an extension of it.
I won’t say any more for now, so please excuse me while I work on the changes. I hope this plain look doens’t turn you off in the meantime….. stay tuned for the new design.

Think Beautiful!
Welcome to Pink Saturday!
If you like surrounding yourself with beautiful things then your walls are a great place to start - so, go on, hang some beautiful, decorative pieces on your walls.
These photos show a gorgeous, long panel print of antique crockery. Just right for that Vintage Chic look.

When the walls are taken care of you can whimsically toss a gorgeous pink lace throw over your lounge chair, couch or bed.

This pink throw is also trimmed with hand-dyed fringing, made to match the lace.

It wouldn’t be the same on Pink Saturday if we didn’t include a picture of some beautiful blooms. These pink lilies looked absolutely amazing - the photo does not do them justice. They stood magnificently in a glass vase at the foot of the alter in the chapel of Our Lady of the Angels.
Flowers like these do last a very long time & would cheer up your home and heart continuously…. not forgetting the lovely fragrance they send out.

A Gorgeous Surprise
Look at what I received in the mail! It’s just perfect to share with you today.
Welcome to Pink Saturday !

Many of you would remember that before Christmas I held a Giveaway here and sent off prizes to the winners. Janice from Enchanted Quilling was the winner of the main prize and she had a little surprise in store for me too. How gorgeous are these – a beautiful pink roses card and a delightful bookmark. It’s sooo nice receiving surprises in the mail. Janice creates some beautiful designs so do pop over and check out all her gorgeous goodies.
Thank You Janice – they’re a lovely surprise to receive.
Now I just had to share another beautfiul rose with you. These photos were taken between Christmas & New Year. We had gorgeous weather – a little hot but it’s always nice when the rains come to cool things off. (well, we actually had thunderstorms & lighting)

…. and here was this gorgeous rose the day after the rains – my friend drew my attention to it and of course I couldn’t resist taking the photos.
Beautiful, Beautiful – a reminder that we Must take time out in our busy lives (whether it’s family life or work) to ‘smell the roses’. It keeps us healthy, puts a smile on our faces and, while enjoying the beauty around us, we momentarily forget all the things that weigh us down. It may not solve our problems & worries but it injects new energy & refreshes us so that we can keep on going.
I could’ve missed out on seeing this gorgeous rose – I’m so glad I didn’t.

Little Treasures
We’ve had special themes for Pink Saturday organised by Beverly at How Sweet The Sound Of course, all have had something to do with Christmas. My apologies for missing last week’s theme – unfortunately I had computer problems plus someone hacked into my blog & left some unwanted code which needed to be cleaned up. I hope it didn’t cause any problems for people trying to visit me. All is now cleared up.
This week we are sharing a special holiday tradition …. but I will also include the photos I had ready for last week. Over the years I’ve selected a theme for most Christmas decorations – it might be Angels one year, hearts another year, stars, bows etc
Some of the decorations would be collected & others would be handmade. The handmade ones were lots of fun and were also given to friends who also collected them as keepsakes. I’ve tried to keep a few as keepsakes myself – it’s hard to hang on to these things because I do like giving them away
The above photo shows some of my handmade decorations. The next photo only has two handmade decorations – the hearts on the left – the other hearts & stars were bought.
The next photo shows my collection of string beading. It’s become a favourite decoration for me – there’s something about them that makes the place feel rich, luxurious & gorgeous.
Red & gold are my favourite Christmas colours – even though Christmas is during our summer I still love to use these traditional colours. I also love things in miniature so one year I decorated a whole bunch of tiny trees – as seen in the top photo – Many were sold during my Christmas sales & given as gifts … but I just had to keep some for myself
I guess while most people are busy with baking favourite Christmas recipes I tend to enjoy making special little treasures…..it’s become a yearly tradition for me now.

Until next time, have a …
Wonderful Pink Saturday Everyone!
