Dear Blogging Friends,

I have been contacted by a blogging friend notifying me that she has been unable to leave a commnt on this blog. I don’t know what the problem would be or what may be causing it.  If you are reading this could you please help by trying out the comment function.

My comment button is found at the end of each post and I’ve called it Creative Chit Chats.

This will be my last Pink Saturday post for 2009 – I’ll be away for one week so although I won’t have a chance to visit you all before I go I’ll come visit you when I return. Please leave a comment before you go.

Enjoy your celebrations. Ciao until 2010!

 ~~~
There are many wonderful entries for Pink Saturday which is hosted by Beverly at How Sweet The Sound. Take time to visit participants’ blogs and see how Pink  everyone’s Saturdays can be.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Pink Saturday Update
My apologies to all Pink Saturday visitors. I’m writing a quick post from another computer because I have had some problems with my computer plus there’s a possiblity that someone has hacked into my blog & added some malicious code somewhere. I am in the process of getting it all sorted out.
I am planning on posting my Pink Saturday post as soon as the problem is fixed. I hope to visit you all very soon.
The Creative Treasury
I’m considering changing the name of my blog. This blog has always be named EP Designs but I’m thnking about changing it to The Creative Treasury. I don’t know why I do things out-of-the-blue like this but thought I’d trial the change.
The name EP Designs has been used since my ‘hobby business’ days and it’s the business name I registered. I think it’s because I got so used to that name. I’m in the process of ‘renovating’ this blog but wanted to give it a more ‘interesting’ name.
I don’t know if this is a good idea or whether it will just confuse people who visit here. If I keep this title I’ll also change the header design.
The other names I’m considering is Decorative Treasury or Timeless Treasures
I’ll have a think about it for a short while, but would love to know what you think. Should I make the change? Or should I go back to the original name?
Southern Charm With Southern Tales ……
…. But Not Always In The South. That’s Britanny’s tag line in the header of her blog.
Brittany from The Greer 5 would love to get to know her readers more so she has organised a quick survey. There’s no signing up or private information needed. Brittany seems to be enjoying her blogging and likes to know what her readers prefer. She loves doing reviews, doing giveaways, sharing tips, tricks and recipes. So pop on over to her blog and check it out then have a go at her survey – it only took me about 20-30 seconds to complete.
Happy Mother’s Day
Wishing all Mums a special day!
See How Easily You Can Reach a Milestone Blog Post
cup-1ee.JPG   Do you celebrate your milestones in the blogging world? When a new blog is activated and a first post published, your first fifty or hundred blog post seems a long way off. I believe that if you have a passion for something, be it business related, creative, or personal, then you’re bound to have lots to talk about ….. Then simply write it down. Annette from Under The Loope has reached her hundreth post by writing about her jewellry making. Her designs are fabulous and she has gathered a nice little communtiy of followers who comment on each other’s blogs & encourage each other.
Or how about celebrating a milestone of visitors to your blog. When getting started you feel like a tiny tadpole in the middle of the ocean and wonder if anyone will ever find you & visit. When I first discovered Sew Delish early in 2008 they were celebrating 2000 unique visitors to their blog within a short time of blogging. Sew Delish held a competition to mark the occasion.
There are a zillion blogs out there with expert advice on blogging and how to drive traffic to your blog. I’m certainly not one of those ‘experts’ but I do read blogging tips and take note of ways to get known out in the bloggersphere. I have too much to learn but in time I would hope I had learnt enough to write up & manage a successful blog.
What I see when I visit the blogs I like is that people are writing posts on what they do, things they like, places they’ve been, how they work …… in no time they have written numerous posts. OK, so there’s more to managing a successful blog than writing interesting posts for followers to read, but my post is not about giving you advice on blogging …. I’ll leave that to the ‘experts’.
My point is to say how easy it can be to reach milestones with your blog especially if you’re consistently updating and writing, and commenting on other blogs. If you love what you do and you love to share your news then you too can reach your first hundred posts in no time.
Have fun with your blog and enjoy it …. and let your readers know when you’ve reached a milestone.
ciao for now
S.M.A.R.T and PEANUTS PHILOSOPHY
Ok, so I really mean the Philosophy of Charles Schultz - a post I enjoyed by Nicole at The Modern Goddess. Charles Schultz was the creator of the comic strip Peanuts. There are two sets of questions to read through and two lessons given. I love it – have a read & see what you think.
Do you set yourself S.M.A.R.T goals? I love this article because it’s what I’m having to go through now – thinking about & setting myself S.M.A.R.T goals. If you stick to it it’s really quite simple & not difficult to do.
Nicole writes -
Setting goals is an important factor for life and for your career or business. As someone who likes to better myself, develop further and achieve a certain success in my life, I like to set goals.
When setting goals I tend to use the S.M.A.R.T. acronym and if you’ve attended any sort of goal setting workshop, you probably discussed this at some point.
For those not familiar with the acronym, let me introduce it to you:-
More ….
I hope you enjoy reading these posts.
Garage Story – Update.
The campaign to completely clean and organise the garage continues. We are now half way through. It doesn’t sound much but it’s a huge task. I’ve never seen so much dust, dirt & creepy crawlies …. well they were dead little bodies when I got to them. The more I pull things out the more jobs seem to come to the surface. I won’t complain though because this job is on the move. It looks as though I can only work on it on Saturdays for now. The next step will be to install sisolation to the ceiling and one wall, add plasterboard (or other) to one wall, then clean/wash/scrub the remainder in preparation for painting.
Wish me good health & strength for the next lot of work. Once this is done we’ll begin to sort & empty out the second half of the garage ….. then I can tackle my work room.
ciao for now
Jewellery Package Won!
Ebay may be the largest auction site online but it gets better on BidMate day by day. Earlier this month I received notice that I had won a $100 Jewellery Package. It was a random draw for ID Verified members. I received the prize promptly and I must say how surprised I was at the gorgeous gifts I received.
There is a monthly prize draw which anyone can enter simply by being part of BidMate. Here are the details -
Competition for the Jewelry Package ending 2nd March 2009
The Prize is seven Pieces of Jewelry valued at a total of $100To be in the draw you need to be a ID Verified Member (see the left lower side of the Members Area) and have Purchased or Sold any item, on BidMate, between 2nd January 2009 and 2nd March 2009. The winner will be randomly chosen on the Evening of the 3rd March 2009 and their details listed here.
The prize was sponsored by Stuff4You who also have a BidMate store. Sponsoring competitions is one marketing idea you can venture into for your business. Take a look at Stuff4You – they have a range of beautiful inexpensive jewellery pieces plus other useful items.
Thank you BidMate for your support and assistance in helping small business owners and providing an alternative auction site with Nil listing fees and low Final Value Fees. You have a friendly and neighbourly community which is growing steadily and although not as big as eBay yet you’re building up to give eBay some serious competition.
Ciao
