I find it difficult this time of year to get back in ‘creative’ mode. However, it’s the time when I need to plan ahead for the year & select items for the recreation process. In 2007 I was only able to produce a small range of works, some of which can be seen in this photo.

My work last year was mainly experimental & I have quite a few new ideas for this year. I was excited when I came across a spirit based varnish which allows the colours to remain as is. In the past I used oil based varnishes, which would change the colours & give the work an old world/vintage look. I will continue to create his look but it’s good to know that when I want whites to remain white I can use a different finish. I’m also hoping to try my hand …. & paint brush, on canvas too. Actually, just by writing about this & thinking about the ideas I’ve got, is increasing my motivation….. can’t wait to get started now on my new works. But first things first & some ‘housekeeping’ must be completed.
