Created With Love.

Welcome to Pink Saturday!

It’s those little things, handmade or recreated with love, that can say so much and become little treaured keepsakes. So I’ve dug out some photos from my archives, of a few small creations to share for today’s Pink . The first photo shows a simple little notebook. I had a stack of handmade paper which I made into these small books. A painted rose on the cover with some trims turn a plain book into a sweet little keepsake notebook.

A few years back my mum came home with a box full of these small stainless steel gravy boats. They were thrown out at her place of work so she rescued them and brought them to me. They were still in good condition – but what do you do with a box full of gravy boats?

…. Recreate them into candle holders of course! After receiving the ‘recreation’ treatment some were filled with candle wax or wax beads and others would hold a tealight or short candle.

The next photo shows a recreated trinket box. This was a well-used silver heart box in need of some loving care. It belonged to a friend of mine who didn’t want to throw it out and so asked me to give it some new life…….

…. and so, it went back home renewed.

One thing I remember when creating the above treasures, is how much I enjoyed working on them.

There are many wonderful entries for Pink Saturday which is hosted by Beverly at How Sweet The Sound. Take time to visit participants’ blogs and see how Pink  everyone’s Saturdays can be.

Beverly has issued us all a challenge for Pink Saturday – to visit someone new amongst the particpants and then introduce them to your readers. So my blog for the week is –

Congratulations to Melissa from  Business Mums Network who has won the Business Services Category of Australian Home Based Business Awards. An award well deserved by Melissa who has worked consistently on helping mums realise their dreams of building up successful businesses, while personally enduring many trials and hardships in life.

The Business Mums Network is now looking for Australia’s favourite blog by a business mum. The blog awards are open for Australian blogs to be nominated. So if you have a favourite blog you’d like to share you may wish to nominate it.

A new blog has been added to my list of blogs I like to visit.  Joy at  Crafty This And That   has a love for crafting. In addition to sewing she likes to do recycle type crafts. Joy has a lovely blog where she shares her crafts, crafty ideas and a little of this and that.

I found a gorgeous pair of earrings handcrafted by Michelle at  Michabella Creations . I think they would do me just right through spring and summer. Michelle is a stay-at-home-mum and a jewellery designer. Her blog is about sharing motherhood and business. This is where she loves to give her readers some insight into Michabella Creations and what goes on behind the scenes.

Spring Has Sprung Outside … and Inside.

Welcome to Pink Saturday!

Spring has sprung in our neck of the woods.  Nature has coped with the drought and survived. We’re still not out of it yet and it will be years before everything gets back on track so it’s lovely to see the beautiful blooms springing out.  The Pink is on the green and it’s wonderful to see ….

This next photo shows one of our azalea bushes – they’re a gorgeous deep pink … there is something unusual in the background … can you see it? I’ll share about this next time :)

… they’re not fully out yet but I love it when the tree is full of magnolias. We have four trees – they look gorgeous in full bloom. I’m not sure what variety of magnolia they are -they have a pastel lavender-pink flower and are white inside.

… a close up of another gorgeous pink azaleas bush we have.

Now I can’t leave out something recreated in the past so this little bowl will be just right for a small arrangement of blooms.

… or how about a large, pink, floral throw with slinky, hand-dyed fringing to sling over your bed, lounge …. or your shoulders. It doubles up as a gorgeous wrap to wear out on those cool spring or summer evenings.

But don’t go just yet ….

Beverly has issued us all a challenge for Pink Saturday – to visit someone new amongst the particpants and then introduce them to your readers. So my blog for the week is –

Collected Treasures  – Jana has a lovely blog full of gorgeous treasures.

Eat Chocolate, Then Laugh

Eat a Dove chocolate and be rewarded with an amusing quote….. although the chocolate is my reward and I don’t usually need an excuse to eat chocolate but it’s fun to get to the inside of the foil wrapper to discover these quotes –

* How do you treat someone addicted to chocolate therapy?

* Chocolate doesn’t make the world go around but it makes the trip worthwhile.

* If at first you don’t succeed then skydiving is not for you.

* Chocolate is the answer. Who cares what the question is.

* The only normal people are the ones you don’t know very well.

* You can’t soar with eagles when you are running with ducks.

* Mistakes are proof that you are trying.

* Knowledge is power but chocolate pulls the switch.

Enjoy your chocolates!
