During the year the Business Mums Network holds a series of workshops on various topics related to business. On the 17th November last year they held one titled “Blogging For Beginners”, presented by Lucie Battaini – MultimediARTand Tash Hugh – Word Constructions.I’ve been to some of the previous workshops (& highly recommend them) but unfortunately I was unable to attend this one. BMN now makes available for purchase transcripts of these workshops. I must say that for someone like me who is not very technically minded, I found these notes very helpful. This guide includes information on the technical side of having a blog (Lucie Battaini) and on content – what to write (Tash Hughes). They speak about the usefulness of blogging for business, search engines, using Word Press, writing posts, filling your blog & a number of other blog related information.
You can spend a great deal of time on your business & there are always going to be areas where you are an absolute ‘genius’ at, some areas where you are ‘OK’ and other areas where you need lots of help with. Understanding blogs & whether or not they are useful for business in any way, was one of those areas I needed ‘a lot of help’ with. Thanks to being able to go through this guide I have been able to understand more and I even managed to do a few technical ‘things’ that I never thought I’d ever understand enough to be able to do them.
Anyhow, take a look at what’s available from Business Mums Guides under Workshop Notes. They are very reasonably priced & I do recommend them.

Ciao for now
I find it difficult this time of year to get back in ‘creative’ mode. However, it’s the time when I need to plan ahead for the year & select items for the recreation process. In 2007 I was only able to produce a small range of works, some of which can be seen in this photo.
My work last year was mainly experimental & I have quite a few new ideas for this year. I was excited when I came across a spirit based varnish which allows the colours to remain as is. In the past I used oil based varnishes, which would change the colours & give the work an old world/vintage look. I will continue to create his look but it’s good to know that when I want whites to remain white I can use a different finish. I’m also hoping to try my hand …. & paint brush, on canvas too. Actually, just by writing about this & thinking about the ideas I’ve got, is increasing my motivation….. can’t wait to get started now on my new works. But first things first & some ‘housekeeping’ must be completed.
Ciao for now!
Hello to all! As this is my first post here I’ll begin with wishing you all a very Happy New Year! Hoping that 2008 will be joyful, full of blessings & prosperous for you.
As time goes on I’ll be sharing with you my thoughts & ideas about my creative work, life as a business mum, any helpful information I come across for home based businesses, and recommended web sites.
I have two web sites for you to browse through – EP DESIGNS This site is currently undergoing an upgrade & will be relaunched soon. My recreated treasures will be available for purchase here, along with an inspiring range of gorgeous gift ideas & decorative homewares.
I will also have a christian themed web site – PRECIOUS TREASURES which will be launched later on this year. You can take a look at the home page for a brief description of what to expect here.
Life is busy, but with the Lord’s help I’ll be able to achieve more than I could possible imagine.
