bus-8aa.jpg       Are you using Twitter yet? Or maybe you’re not too sure how to use Twitter? Twitter is heard about everywhere and it can be hard to know how to use it – be it for personal, business or both.  Tilda Virtual Services has two posts on twittering – What all this about Twitter? and How to use Twitter .  These posts are a handy reference to twittering.

The Creative Treasury

I’m considering changing the name of my blog. This blog has always be named EP Designs but I’m thnking about changing it to The Creative Treasury. I don’t know why I do things out-of-the-blue like this but thought I’d trial the change.

The name EP Designs has been used since my ‘hobby business’ days and it’s the business name I registered. I think it’s because I got so used to that name. I’m in the process of ‘renovating’ this blog but wanted to give it a more ‘interesting’ name.

I don’t know if this is a good idea or whether it will just confuse people who visit here. If I keep this title I’ll also change the header design.

The other names I’m considering is Decorative Treasury or Timeless Treasures

I’ll have a think about it for a short while, but would love to know what you think. Should I make the change? Or should I go back to the original name?

What Do These Things Have In Common?

  •  Computer Program
  • Fire Escape
  • Life Raft
  • Medical Syringe
  • Safety Device For Elevators
  • Windshield Wiper
  • Circular Saw
  • Dam and Reservoir Construction
  • Engine Muffler
  • Kelvar – a steel-like fibre used n radial tires, crash ehlmets and bullet-proof vests.

….. They were all invented by women. There are numerous more inventions by women; in fact the list of women inventors is possibly as long as their male counterparts.  However,  during the 19th Century women were not able to patent their inventions in their own name. Their legal rights were virtually non-existant so had to rely on their husband’s or father’s help….. and their inventions would be patented in their names…. you can read more on Women Inventors Here.

Augusta Ada Byron

Southern Charm With Southern Tales ……

…. But Not Always In The South. That’s Britanny’s tag line in the header of her blog.

Brittany from The Greer 5 would love to get to know her readers more so she has organised a quick survey. There’s no signing up or private information needed. Brittany seems to be enjoying her blogging and likes to know what her readers prefer. She loves doing reviews, doing giveaways, sharing tips, tricks and recipes. So pop on over to her blog and check it out then have a go at her survey – it only took me about 20-30 seconds to complete.

Pink Mix Of New & Recreated Treasures

 Welcome to Pink  Saturday!

On show for Pink Saturday is a mix of recreated treasures. This photo was taken at one of the Christmas Exhibition & Sale sales I would stage each year. This is the type of work I love to do. Everything in this photo was recreated or made by EP Designs … that’s me.

The decorative tabelcloths, throws, and tablerunners were designed and trimmed by me but sewn by my mum …. I can design, paint and create but I can’t sew – mum is a perfectionist and sews beautifully.

If you look closely at the above photo you will also find tassels (including beaded tassels), rose coasters, an elegant pin cushion, a couple of items from last week’s Pink Saturday, and a small velvet covered book….. can you find them?

Most of the items in the first photo are sold – including the above tray. It feels great knowing that people out there are enjoying my work and using them to ‘pretty up’ or brighten a little corner of their home.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s Pink Saturday – I look forward to reading yours.

There are many wonderful entries for Pink Saturday which is hosted by Beverly at How Sweet The Sound. Take time to visit participants’ blogs and see how Pink  everyone’s Saturdays can be.
